Arsenal-Burnley Reaction

Just fucking shit, everything in life equals out in the end and we are now getting closer to where we probably should be and that is farther away from Top 4. I hate Burnley matches, cause we play down to their level every single damn time. Burnley never switch anything up against cause they don’t have to. I swear the only reasons why players like Ben Mee and Westwood still have careers are cause of the Arsenal matches.

PRE-MATCH/FIRST HALF – Arteta due to injuries/AFCON/suspensions picked the same squad that performed miserably midweek against Liverpool, but really didn’t have a choice so no issue there. It’s more for when players start coming back into the fold, I have said this so many times but the foursome of ESR, Gabi, Ødegaard and Saka is not good enough for us to get where we want to be. There is not enough athleticism or dynamism between those four to compete for the top spots in the league. Nonetheless, the game started out like every game against Burnley does, and that is us having all the ball and them soaking up all the pressure. Ramsdale was terrible in the few parts he was called upon. Saka was the lone bright spot getting past Erik Pieters a good amount and was our only offensive outlet in the first half.

SECOND HALF – Just more of the same in the first half which meant it was fucking shit. You could tell there was more urgency from the boys seeing as how we needed to score goals and time was running out, I am glad they figured out that part at least. But it was just dull football, Lokanga was on an island by himself, Gabi was useless, Ødegaard was doing a good amount of nothing, Lacazette was as useful as me, and we were still tied with Burnley as the game was waning. Our best chance of the game came from a long ball over the top from Tierney to find a streaking ESR who beat his man down the line and put a cross in for Lacazette who inexplicably missed an open net. And then we ran a lot shouted at the ref lot, sucked a lot, but didn’t score a lot. Actually didn’t score at all. Just a pitiful performance. Our next game is 18 days away against Wolves so by our next game, it would be dope if had a new striker, reinforcement in midfield, and a new manager but we can only dream. Lettuce pray.

Match Ratings:

Ramsdale: 4 – Very shaky, passes were off, just as good as the rest of the team

Ben White: 5 – out of position but did nothing of any value

Holding: 4 – There is no way Saliba is worse than him

Gabriel: 5 – not much to do

Tierney: 5 – Tried to get down the line, showed effort but bleh

Lokanga: 5 – Put in effort but on an island by himself

Ødegaard: 4 – You expect him to be the creator and to break down sides like Burnley, did the opposite.

ESR: 5.5 – Created the best chance of the game but nothing outside of that. He is so much better when he is direct, not sure why he holds back. I’ll blame Arteta

Saka: 7 – The best player on the pitch for me, willing to go at players and create something

Gabi: 4- Literally did nothing

Lacazette: 3- Gotta put that goal away

Subs:

Eddie – Not on long enough to rate

Manager(Arteta) : 3 – Y’all know how I feel about the guy. Just terrible

Edu: Get Vlahovič done and this can all be forgotten
