Just fucking shit. Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta have become masters at letting go of our dead weight for almost no return value and just refuse to get the requisite players into the club when we need them. Somehow we have pleasantly found ourselves in a position pushing for a Top 4 place this season. And in typical Arsenal fashion, the only business we did was finding ourselves an American center defender from the Kroenke owned Colorado Avalanche who might not ever make an appearance for the club. You can’t make this shit up. We let Auba, Kolasinac, AMN, Chambers, Flo Balogun, Pablo Mari, all go and brought in no replacements or enhancements to the squad for this season. In principle, letting all those players go out is fine cause none of them were influential to our season up to this point but not signing ANYBODY that can help us this season is just incompetence and negligence of the highest order. In a world where I took over Arsenal, I’d have built a time machine and fire Arteta in 2019 when we lost to Leicester last season at home, but if I took it over now, I’d give him the end of the season to make top 4 to save his job and then fire him if he didn’t. That will not happen of course cause the Kroenkes for some reason have some ridicilous amount of loyalty to a guy who accomplished much less than Unai Emery who did way more for the club in half the time.
I am kind of happy that Stan didn’t fall for Arteta flying to Colorado looking for money. I wouldn’t trust this guy with ordering me take-out let alone saving my season with signings. Arteta has every opportunity to prove me wrong by making Top 4 this season. Top 6 wouldn’t be good enough for me but looks like the Kroenkes would tell him that is good enough to keep his job. I understand not to panic buying Alexander Isak (who I wrote about) but don’t understand why not buying him now when we need him if we are going to go get him in the summer for probably the same price. I understand Vlahović and his team playing us to get his move to Juventus but putting all our eggs in that Serbian basket shows how naive we are. All the pressure and I mean all the pressure is on Arteta and this squad to finish the season to get us back into the Champions League which I would respect if Arteta’s job was on the line, but with it not being on the line, this season just looks hopeless with whatever the outcome is. I got to respect Arteta for schnoozing the Kroenkes for giving him this ridiculous amount of time at the club and repaying them with absolutely fucking nothing.Unreal Job security by Mikel. Regardless, these past few weeks have been pleasant with not having to watch Arsenal let me down but if I swear these clowns mess this up this half of the season….. I still will watch them next season regardless lol but just let me watch soccer on Tuesdays/Wednesday. Is that too much to ask for?
