They did it to me again. The one constant in my life, that I can always count on, is for these clowns to let me down, time after time. There is nothing for me to say anymore, I can’t even make “kill myself” jokes anymore watching this team cause I might actually at this point. With 3 games left in the season this is what the standings looked like (on 5/12/2022):
Arsenal had 4 points on Spurs with 3 games left with a victory over them last Thursday being all we needed to secure that 4th place spot. Now you probably know, this is what happened last Thursday against Spurs:
Despite me overreacting and panicking after the Spurs defeat, WE WERE STILL GOOD. We had a point over them which meant if we won our next two games, we would qualify for Champions League but nah. After Arsenal doing what they do best which was massively choke against Newcastle where a win would still keep us ahead of Spurs going into the final weekend, this is what the standings look like with one game left:
MATCH SUMMARY: Today, we played Newcastle, who sat in 14th place today. FOURTEENTH PLACE. Newcastle had absolutely nothing to play for, nothing. Arsenal had EVERYTHING to play for and showed up flat and uninterested in a game where a win would keep us in the driver’s seat for Champions League. Maddening. It is not even worth going into the match that deep just knowing it’s so plain and simple what happened. Newcastle were just flat out better in every facet of the game, they dominated us from the start and it never stopped. They were relentless. Newcastle won every aerial duel, got first to every ball and one their individual matchups all across the pitch. Can’t remember a credible chance Arsenal had on target. You or me would have been just fine in goal for Newcastle. Don’t take my word for it, listen to the manager on what he had to say on the defeat:
“It’s a really tough night. Normally, I can sit here and I can defend, but what we’ve done today, it’s not easy. Newcastle were one hundred times better than us in every department from the beginning to the end and it’s hard to accept to accept, but you have to accept it and that’s the reality of what happened today on that pitch.”
In a match where we had to win, you love to fucking see it, don’t you? I have no words on the match itself really, we sucked, they didn’t suck and now we are back to mediocrity.
COMMENTS ABOUT OUR SITUATION GOING INTO THE FINAL WEEK:
- WE EXTENDED MIKEL ARTETA TWO MORE YEARS FOR NOTHING. HE DIDN’T EVEN BRING US CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL. HOW BIG OF A JOKE ARE WE? GET HIM OUT OF THE CLUB
- There are pictures/videos after the match just like this after the match with the Arsenal players disappointed at full-time whistle:
Nobody feels sorry for you guys, they probably aren’t asking for sympathy but you guys had 90 minutes to do something about it and didn’t show up. They let themselves, the club, and the fans down.
- Incompetent Arsenal fans that try to argue against Arteta getting sacked with “Who would we hire?” HIRE FUCKING ANYBODY. This guy hasn’t done anything for us of any relevance. We have finished in 8th twice and will now finish 5th this season. No Champions League spot. So laughably far from the Premier League title, Whoever we hire after him, could literally not do worse than what Arteta has done with the provided resources at Arsenal. So might as well go hire somebody else and see what happens. Love the hairline, hate the guy as manager, get him out.
- Edu’s head should be on the chopping block as well as Arsenal’s technical director. This guy went into January with Arsenal offloading player after player and didn’t BRING ONE HUMAN to come help us in our efforts for the second half of the season. Can’t be any worse at your job than this guy.
- Inject Granit Xhaka’s quotes into my vein, the only player that can come out of this game with any credit to his name:
- Even though everybody and their grandma and dog knew that Arsenal would let us down, I still can not believe how bad those cowards were today. Just mental midgets of the highest proportions. kill me.
- If it were me, I would have won today’s game instead of losing, but like I said at the start, that’s just me.
There’s not much more to say about this match. We have to win our upcoming game and hope Spurs lose. But want to hear the funny part? SPURS ARE PLAYING THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE THIS WEEKEND IN NORWICH. Just gotta laugh at this point and find a new hobby.
Abysmal. Maddening. Cowards. Infuriating. Suicidal. Arsenal. 🙂
